Message from the CEO

Crown Paints is an independent UK manufacturer, currently working against a very different backdrop from that which prevailed when paint was first manufactured on the Darwen, Lancashire site over a century ago.

Responsiveness to market demands is key to the success of any organisation these days. A big part of our response is an understanding that quality and value are just starting points; customers' needs and expectations go far beyond that.

We are all becoming aware that the way we live our lives in the developed world has become unsustainable. We have to safeguard the future by taking care of the present. As a manufacturer and a corporate member of society, it's a responsibility we take very seriously.

Paint is a product that actively contributes to sustainability. Without paint and protective coatings, most of the buildings around us would simply rot, crumble and collapse. Paint makes buildings sustainable. It follows that better performing paint offers greater sustainability – and better paint is what we're about.

I urge you to look at all the things we're doing to try to realise this aim, including keeping the importance of our highly valued customers and employees at the heart of all our plans.
